Randolph, NJ — STEPS Lacrosse is proud to announce the appointment of Bill (Billy) McCutcheon as Executive Director of the Boys Program. McCutcheon joins the leadership team of Charlie Shoulberg, CEO; Jessica Shoulberg, CFO; Mike Walsh, President; and Matt Kovachick, Boys Director and Collegiate Recruiting Coordinator. Together, this team continues to advance STEPS Lacrosse’s mission of developing athletes of character and excellence both on and off the field.

McCutcheon brings a wealth of experience as both a coach and player at the highest levels of the sport. His coaching career includes serving as Head Men’s Lacrosse Coach at Wagner College (NCAA Division I) and Assistant Men’s Lacrosse Coach at Monmouth University (NCAA Division I). He has also led successful programs at Oratory Preparatory School, Millburn High School, and Brighton Lacrosse Club in Adelaide, South Australia.

As a player, McCutcheon captained the Towson University lacrosse team, earning All-Conference (CAA) honors, and also competed for Johns Hopkins University. He was a USA Lacrosse All-American and a three-time All-State selection at Chatham High School, where he excelled as a multi-sport athlete in football, hockey, and lacrosse.

Beyond his on-field accomplishments, McCutcheon has built a strong foundation as an educator, teaching English, History, and Language Arts in schools across New Jersey. He holds a B.S. in English from Towson University and a New Jersey Teacher Certification from Fairleigh Dickinson University.

A native of Chatham, New Jersey, McCutcheon comes from a proud lacrosse family. His father, Bill Sr., played at Johns Hopkins University; his sister, Helen (McCutcheon) Oliver, is the Head Coach of Chatham High School Girls Lacrosse; and his sister, Cat McCutcheon, a STEPS Lacrosse alumna (Class of 2011), played at Gettysburg College.

“We are thrilled to welcome Bill to the STEPS Lacrosse family,” said Charlie Shoulberg, CEO of STEPS Lacrosse. “His experience, leadership, and deep understanding of player development make him an incredible addition to our organization and a tremendous resource for our athletes.”
